The Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi:
The Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi is a non-profit organisation, officially recognised through the Decree of the President of the Republic no. 1313 in 1962. Since 1960 it has been included in the official Table of Cultural Institutes of national interest by the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities. Its statutory aims are:
- to spread Collodi’s works and make them known all over the world, in particular The Adventures of Pinocchio;
- to set up a library with all the Italian and foreign editions of Collodi’s works, and any other material relating to the writer;
- to valorise Collodi’s works through cultural events, prizes, conferences, shows, publications, competitions etc.; to encourage writers to produce works for children;
- to set up in Collodi a study centre on children’s literature;
- to manage and improve the Monumental Pinocchio Park, enlarging and valorising the area, which is subject to the protection and control of the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage.
