Ceres
Roman goddess who was the protector of cereal crops and of agricultural labour in general. She is portrayed in line with the customary iconography as a combination of majestic dignity and mild gentleness. In her right hand she is holding a sheaf of wheat, the element which distinguishes her as the goddess of the crops.
