Fame
The most celebrated sculpture in the garden of Collodi is described as follows by Arnolfini: 'it is set above little heaps of tuff, well shaped to form a little grotto, with a dolphin in the same that spouts water, which fans out and cascades down the little grottoes beneath, some in the form of steps, forming veils of water”. According to other antique sources, the cornucopia borne in Fame’s left hand spouted forth no less than 400 barrels of water an hour. Inigo Triggs and other authors suggest that it was based on a design by the artist Paladini. Fame is shown with her customary attributes, as a young woman in flight and bearing a trumpet.
