follow directions for Pescia - Collodi - Collodi is placed in a central position between Montecatini Terme (10 km), celebrated for its thermal establishments and its dominance of hotels, and Lucca (15 km), the magnificent town with the impressive wall that encloses monuments and views of rare beauty; it is near Pisa (32 km), with the marvellous Piazza dei Miracoli, Viareggio and Versilia (45 km) with its famous beaches, Florence (60 km), one of the world capitals of culture and art. Near to Collodi one can find the art town of Pistoia with its Zoo, Vinci with the Leopardiano Museum and House of Leonardo, Abetone and the Pistoiese Mountains with its noted ski tracks. 5km from Collodi one canvisit Pescia, a town known for the production of flowers and for its historic and artistic beauties, and Svizzera Pesciatina with its 10 ancient villages “castella”. In Collodi one can also find the historic Garzoni Gardens (with the annexed Villa), a beautiful example of an Italian garden of the 1700s. The place of the Carlo Collodi National Foundation, a Cultural Institution that has realized Pinocchio Park, one finds nearby in Via Pasquinelli 6, which includes Collodian Library and the International Centre of Studies of Reading and Literature for Infancy.
