The Museum-Library the "Laboratory of Words and Figures", conceived by Giovanni Michelucci and built inside the Park in 1986 to a design by Carlo Anzilotti, is a multifunctional space that comprises a small, educational permanent exhibition on the life and works of Carlo Collodi and on the Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi, as well as temporary exhibitions held from time to time on children’s book illustrations, or works of art inspired by children’s literature from all over the world, educational exhibitions, drawings and the creations produced by youngsters and schools for “Pinocchio’s Birthday”. Performances are also held here and educational workshops connected with puppet theatre for visitors to the park, conferences and other events connected with the Collodi theme. With multiyear theme programmes, the Centre aims to encourage visitors to rediscover artistic and pedagogical values that are all too often neglected.
